Although the Thistle is the National Emblem of Scotland, the variety here in Kentucky in considered a nuisance.
The seed is a downy thing, much like the dandelion, that easily travels with the wind. Thus, it ends up all over the farm and causes distress for the local farmer.
Bees and butterflies seems to love it and I adore the color of the flowers.
They are great for my camera, but not much else. I am sure these will meet the fate of the mower fairly soon.
"All my life I have tried to pluck a thistle and plant a flower wherever the flower would grow in thought and mind."
Linking up with Mersad today.
